Chika Shimizu is a Theatrical Scenic and Costume Designer based in New York. She has won NACCP Theatre Award, SXSW Innovation Award, Emmy Award for Un(re)solved AR installation, and has been nominated for Henry Hewes Design Awards and CT Critics Circle Awards. Regionally, Chika has worked with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Alliance Theatre, Paper Mill Playhouse, Signature Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, Geva Theatre, Portland Center Stage, TheatreSquared, Northern Stage, and Yale Repertory Theatre. In New York, she has worked with WP Theatre, Irish Repertory Theatre, The Pond Theatre Company, Epic Theatre Ensemble, The Barrow Group, and Yangtze Repertory Theatre. Her Opera design credits include Calgary Opera, Arizona Opera, and Opera Grand Rapids.
